The past two weeks have been a whirlwind as the Mavs introduced its new players, unveiled some flashy new alternate uniforms, held their annual Media Day and started training camp. It’s been Mavs, all day, every day baby.
But on Saturday the focus shifts and it’s all about us – the fans. More precisely; the MFFL’s!
It’s our unofficial start to the Maverick’s 2014-15 season. It’s The Mavs Fan Jam and it’s going down Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in and around American Airlines Center.
If you’re a true MFFL – then this is the place to see, be seen and be seen some more.
The annual Fan Jam – celebrating Mavericks fans young and old – is FREE and open to the public. For fans wanting to select their seats for the new season, doors will open at 9 a.m. to select full, half or mini game plans.
The doors will open for the general public at 1 p.m. (um, I’d get there a lil’ earlier) and parking in the AudiPark Garage across from American Airlines Center is $5.
There’s something for everyone at the Fan Jam. Looking for some new Mavs gear like that Chandler Parson’s jersey for the new season? You’ll find it at during the Fan Jam in the Fan Shop now renamed The Hangar. Are you an ol’ school MFFL like me? Then you’ll want to make a beeline for the Mavs Legends table and get autographs from past Mavs stars like Ro Blackman, Brad Davis and Derek Harper.
Are you a “younger” MFFL? Then meeting and taking photos with mascot Champ, Mavs Man, the ManiAACS and the Mavs Dancers will be sure to make your day. Also providing entertainment will be the Mavs Drumline, Street Team and Hoop Troop.
There will also be plenty of food, drinks, music and good old-fashioned excitement as you mix and mingle with people who have the same thing in common as you – they love the Mavs!
But probably the biggest highlight of the day will be our beloved Mavs playing in a scrimmage at 2 p.m. on the AAC floor! Here’s your chance to get a good look at all the new Mavs – Chandler Parsons, Jameer Nelson, Tyson Chandler (again) – and our old favorites, Dirk, Monta, Devin and others in action.
Yes MFFL’s. It’s our time. It’s all about us on tomorrow. So get on the phone, gather all the MFFL’s you know – and some you don’t – and head to the AAC on Saturday.
You won’t want to miss this celebration of you, the fan. The MFFL! See you on Saturday!
