Durant Shines as USA beats Czech Republic

After well-deserved criticism for a crunch time loss against France, Team USA basketball has rebounded (pun intended) with a 120-66 win over Iran and now a 119-84 win against the Czech Republic .

Kevin Durant is arguably the biggest name to play for Team USA in Tokyo and now he’s also the all-time leading a scorer for the team. In fitting fashion, Durant passed Carmelo Anthony as the all-time scoring with a 3-pointer in the 2nd quarter to take the lead. Durant ended the game with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Jayson Tatum broke out of his recent shooting slump with team leading 27 points. Jrue Holiday continued to shine on defense with 3 steals. Damian Lillard struggled after a strong performance against Iran, shooting just 3-10 from the field for 8 points.

With this win Team USA is now a lock for the quarterfinals and will find out their next opponent on Sunday.
