Dallas Mavericks players Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell and Josh Green each took a family from Hopeful Solutions shopping for the holidays at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Each family had a wish list of items and the players took them around the store to check each item off the list.
I asked Josh Green a lot of children say professional athlete when they are asked what they want to be when they grow up, but only see what is displayed on their television. If he could share his message on the importance of giving back to see this side of his career. Josh responded, ”Only a small part of it is what we do on the court. Not only does it make their day, but it makes my day as well. I got a little sister so i know how how happy she gets this time of the year. I’ll do anything as far as it comes to this type of stuff.”
Dwight Powell also made a $10,000 donation to Payaway the Layaway, to help additional families in North Texas payoff their balances for the holidays.
“It warms my heart, puts a smile on my face. it really is the best part of our job.” Dwight Powell says after spending time with families.
