Maxi Kleber and Dorian Finney-Smith have become fan favorites over the past few years, but what will it cost the Mavericks this summer to keep these Restricted Free Agents?
When it comes to free agency it is impossible to predict what type of money a player will receive in the open market. The best we can do is look at things like a player’s age, production, injury history, and future potential to determine what a team will be willing to pay for their services.
It is hard to put a measurement on injury risk and potential, so the main thing we have to go on when trying to determine a players value is based on their age and production.

Top 10 potential free agent Point Guards for the Dallas Mavericks in 2019.
The 2019 Free Agent Point Guard class is loaded with talent. Point Guard is not necessarily a position of need for the Dallas Mavericks with Luka Dončić and Jalen Brunson on the roster, but that doesn’t really matter if you have the chance to land some of the studs that will be available this summer. What the Mavericks are in short supply of is defensive guards. Guys that can put pressure on opposing ball handlers and disrupt the offensive flow for opponents. Luckily for the Mavericks, you will also find a few defensive stoppers on this list as well.

Top 10 potential free agent Shooting Guards for the Dallas Mavericks in 2019.
The Shooting Guard free agent pool for 2019 is probably the weakest of all the position groups. There is one superstar in the group, a couple pretty good players, and a few younger guys with yet unfulfilled potential.
This is fine for the Dallas Mavericks because Shooting Guard is not necessarily an area of need for them as they have 26 year old Tim Hardaway Jr. under contract for next season and then a $20 million Player Option for the 2020-2021 season. Given that they are already paying out about $20 million to the Shooting Guard position and that they have needs in other areas, it is hard to imagine that the Mavericks will be in play for many of these guys outside of Klay Thompson, because who cares what position you play when you can shoot like he can.

Top 10 potential free agent Small Forwards this summer for the Dallas Mavericks.
As we continue our search for the players that will compile the next Dallas Mavericks Championship team we will take a look at potential upcoming free agents for the Small Forward position. This is a list loaded with top level talent and game changing players. Most of the great talent in this group have player options for next season but will be looking to cash in on some new max deals.
Now that Harrison Barnes is no longer a Maverick this position is wide open, making Small Forward and Center the two main areas of focus this offseason. The Mavericks should feel pretty good about the quality and depth of both of these position groups, giving them a great opportunity to add complementary talent around Luka Dončić, Kristaps Porzingis, and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Mavericks Free Agency Overview – Current Contracts, Restricted Free Agents, Cap Space, Free Agents
The future looks bright for the Dallas Mavericks. They have the Slovenian Sensation Luka Dončić who is swishing and dishing all over the NBA despite being a 19 year old rookie. They have also traded for Kristaps Porzingis, the 7’3″ 23 year old do-it-all NBA All-Star and Tim Hardaway Jr, a 26 year old super athletic shooter and scorer. Over the past few years the Mavericks have been able to find and develop quality young role players and defenders in Dorian Finney-Smith and Maxi Kleber. On top of it all, the Mavericks will have a good chunk of free cap space this summer to try to add to the stable of talent.

Top 10 potential free agent Power Forwards this summer for the Dallas Mavericks.
Power Forward is not the deepest or most talented free agent position group this season, not as many game changers up for grabs as in our free agent Center rankings. Regardless, there is still some very good young talen and potentially some great value for the Mavs to use a portion of their $57 million available this summer if they look in the right places. With no power forward on the roster beyond this season, depending on the Dwight Powell player option for $10 million, the Mavs will have to be in the mix for some of these guys. Let’s take a look at some of the top candidates.

Top 10 potential free agent Centers this summer for the Dallas Mavericks.
This summer’s free agent class of Centers is filled with current and past All-Stars. Most of these players come with big money salaries but the Mavericks have money to spend and no real Center on their roster (Sorry, Salah Mejri). Kristaps Porzingis may be the tallest player in the NBA and a good rim protector but rebounding and banging with bigs down low has not yet been a strength of his. In order for us to get the most out of Porzingis and Slovenian Sensation Luka Dončić I think we need a big body to help do some of the dirty work. If they can run, shoot, and pass that would be great to.

Top 10 Free-Agents of 2019
Santa, if your reading this, thank you for all of the tanks you gave us the last few years, they really helped! But all I want for Christmas this year is another elite player to join Luka Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr to build the next great Champion Dallas Mavericks team. Oh, and for Dirk’s legs to work again, thank you!

Point guard is one of the positions that the Mavericks really don’t need make a move on this offseason. Dennis Smith Jr shows great promise, continuing to build on a very impressive rookie season and Jalen Brunson is a proven winner who has shown to be very effective in his limited minutes. Luka Doncic will also be a primary ball handler so it is not necessary to bring in another big name point guard. With that said, there are some very good players on this list, and in an era where shooting and player movement most important, you may regret overlooking these guys just because we already have a few guards.
