We have now officially passed the halfway point of the 2018-2019 NBA season so it is a good time to step back and take a look at where the Mavericks stand in the Division and against the rest of the Conference as they continue to strive for playoff basketball.

The Mavericks are falling farther and farther back each week. The team is in dire need of a serious turnaround if they are going to compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. They have dropped 1.5 more games behind the Southwest Division leading Houston Rockets and another .5 game back from the 8 seed in the West.

To start the new year the Mavericks remain under .500 at 17-19. They are 4 games back of the Southwest Division lead, 3 games back from the 8th seed in the West, and 7.5 games back from the 1st place team in the West.
This week went just about as you could have predicted for the Dallas Mavericks. They won all of their home games, moving to 15-3 at home, and lost all of their road games, now 2-16 outside of Dallas. That is just a ridiculous split that has to give at some point, hopefully in the form of more road wins as they head to the east coast this week for a trio of games.

The Dallas Mavericks have concluded their brutal 4 game road stretch this week and per usual for the Mavs on the road this season they lost all 4. That now puts the Mavericks road record at 2-14, while at home this season they are an impressive 13-3. The Mavericks are now 3-7 in their last 10 games and have lost 6 games in a row.

Week 9 standings, game recaps, Western Conference power rankings, and team stats summary.
With just 1 win and 3 losses this week, the Dallas Mavericks dropped from 7th place to 9th and out of the current playoff picture. The Mavs still have big time struggles on the road, losing two more this week and dropping to 2-11 this season while playing away from the American Airlines Center.

This was a really positive week for the Dallas Mavericks, they were 3-1 and have climbed to 2nd in the Southwest Division and 7th in the Western Conference standings.

The Mavs only had 2 games this week, but those 2 wins moved them up to be tied for 8th place in the Western Conference. Sitting at .500 and in the thick of the playoff race the Mavs season has been reborn after a disappointing start to the season had many fans panicking.

The Mavs made some progress this week in their quest for the 2019 Playoffs. Although they dropped to 4 games back in the division due to Memphis’ big 4-0 week (including a win over the Mavs), they made up 1/2 a game in the Western Conference Standings, now just 2 games back of the 8 seed.

The Mavericks finally had a winning week, their first since week 1 of the 2018-2019 season. They also had a win against the team that made the biggest jump in the Power Rankings this week, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nobody is running away with the Southwest Division and there really has yet to even be many divisional match-ups. It is a very evenly matched group of teams and the head-to-head match-ups are going to be incredibly important this season. We have already dropped 1 game in San Antonio and we have our next division match-up this week in Memphis where they are 5-1 to start the season.
