The Dallas Mavericks have signed Naji Marshall to a three-year, $52.2 million contract extension.
Marshall was entering the final season of his previous deal on a one-year, $9.4 million contract, but Dallas moved quickly to secure one of its two-way contributors long term. The extension keeps Marshall in Dallas through the 2029-30 season and it is a reflection of the organization’s confidence in Marshall’s growth and his importance to the front office’s vision for the Mavs core around Cooper Flagg.
After joining Dallas, Marshall has elevated his game. During the 2025-26 season, he posted career-best numbers across the board, averaging 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 29.5 minutes per game while shooting an efficient 51.0% from the field. He appeared in 74 games, making a career-high 47 starts, and recorded six 30-point performances after never reaching the 30-point mark during his four seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans.
He has become one of the most versatile players on the team. Whether defending multiple positions, attacking the basket with his signature floater, creating offense for teammates, or providing energy on both ends of the floor, Marshall consistently showed that ultimately can help the team win when at full strength.

Marshall’s production has been remarkably consistent since arriving in Dallas. Over two seasons with the Mavericks, he has averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 50.9% from the field across 143 games, including 78 starts. He has already scored 30 or more points eight times as a Maverick. Marshall is a valuable role player for Mavs, who can also step in as a spot starter when team needs him to fill in.
By extending Marshall before he reached free agency, the Mavericks avoid the uncertainty of the open market while keeping one of their most versatile contributors in Dallas. As the franchise continues building around its young core, Marshall’s toughness, defensive versatility, and efficient offensive production make him a key piece of the team’s foundation moving forward.
